ARTO is a global organization operating in the chemical supply and contract research and manufacturing space, serving clients across pharmaceutical, agricultural, and specialty materials markets. The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating new commercial opportunities and supporting revenue growth within the U.S. market, while managing existing customer relationships and developing strategic accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities with both prospective and established clients
- Support contract discussions and maintain oversight of commercial agreements
- Promote relevant company service areas through cross-selling and upselling initiatives
- Monitor progress toward performance targets and prepare regular activity updates and forward plans
- Maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities
- Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting activities related to assigned accounts
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience in chemical distribution, trading, or related commercial activity
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities across varied stakeholder groups
- Effective prioritization and time management skills
- High level of self-direction and initiative
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to maintain organization across multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficiency with standard business software (e.g., Office 365 or equivalent tools)
- Ability to communicate technical product information in a clear and commercially relevant manner
- Familiarity with similar customer segments is advantageous
- Experience managing key accounts is beneficial
- Experience using CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) is desirable
