Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence empowers manufacturers with data-driven solutions across the entire product lifecycle. They are seeking a high-performing Sales Engineer to grow their portable metrology business, blending technical expertise with consultative sales to address complex inspection and quality challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Drive sales of Hexagon’s Absolute Arm and 3D scanning solutions across the Mid-Atlantic territory
- Develop and execute a territory growth strategy targeting key industries such as aerospace, defense, government contractors, and industrial manufacturing
- Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities while expanding relationships within existing accounts
- Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and hands-on evaluations (on-site and virtual)
- Position articulated arms and scanning solutions to address inspection, quality control, and reverse engineering applications
- Collaborate with application engineers and technical specialists to deliver tailored solutions
- Manage the full sales cycle including prospecting, quoting, negotiations, and closing
- Maintain accurate pipeline management and forecasting in CRM (Salesforce or equivalent)
- Stay current on competitive technologies, industry trends, and Hexagon innovations
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or metrology-related roles
- Strong understanding of articulated arms, portable CMMs, and/or 3D scanning technologies
- Ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear business value for customers
- Proven success in achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-driven and comfortable working in a remote, territory-based role
- Willingness to travel throughout the region (approximately 40–60%)
- Experience with Hexagon Absolute Arm, laser trackers, or structured light / laser scanning solutions
- Knowledge of GD&T, inspection workflows, and manufacturing quality processes
- Experience working with aerospace, defense contractors, or government-related manufacturing
- Familiarity with metrology and inspection software (e.g., PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, Geomagic, or similar)
- Established network within the Mid-Atlantic manufacturing and defense ecosystem
