Beyond Meat is a company focused on creating plant-based meat alternatives. They are hiring a Field Marketing Manager to lead a summer-long sampling and experiential program in NYC, managing a team and coordinating with various stakeholders to drive consumer engagement and brand awareness.
Responsibilities:
- Full Program Ownership: Own end-to-end planning & execution of sampling plan including Brand Ambassador recruiting and training, event programming, budget, inventory management, logistics, and reporting
- Event Program: Identify, negotiate, plan, and lead local event strategies to boost brand awareness and engage directly with consumers. This includes researching events, outreach, coordination, and hands-on execution at major events
- Budget Management: Manage total budget across product logistics, cold-chain, staffing, event sponsorships, branded assets, and mobile sampling vehicle(s)
- Team Management: Hire, train, and manage team of Brand Ambassadors responsible for event activations and experiential campaigns operating 3-5 days per week during key summer months
- Own all event sponsorships, permits, negotiations, logistics, and activations
- Manage Beyond Meat's marketing activity in the region with tools to measure and track accountability, including budget, product, and asset inventory
- Reporting: weekly reporting (by channel/location/SKU), QR/coupon scan rate, UGC volume, cost per sample; correlate with retail sell-through data etc. – ensure measurable retail velocity lift in sampling zones vs. non-sampling zones
- Market Knowledge: Build deep knowledge of the local market and community partners to develop successful and profitable programing for Beyond
- Sales Support: Cultivate strong relationships with store teams, ensuring our products are well-merchandised and generating excitement around new launches and promotions
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with event organizers, local influencers, and community partners while representing the brand at events. Leverage these connections to identify and secure new opportunities for collaboration, sponsorships, events, and promotional activities
- Other related and supervisory duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 3-5 years in field/experiential marketing or brand activation in CPG beverages or food
- Proven experience managing sampling at scale (50K+ samples) and leading field teams of 5+
- Outgoing, energetic, and personable with a passion for connecting with consumers
- Deep knowledge of the events landscape, permitting, and venue/gym/run club networks, especially NYC & LA
- Strong planning, project management, budget management, vendor negotiation, and logistics planning skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint, to analyze field marketing results and share reporting with the team
- Valid driver's license; comfortable working evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to thrive in a startup environment where things move quickly and change often
- Ability to establish good relationships and credibility with store managers, customers, and brokers. Excellent managing time, priorities, and expenses
- Experience working with beverage distributors (Big Geyser, UNFI, KeHE, or similar) an asset
