The City of Edmond is seeking a Customer Service Representative I to assist with utility payments and service requests. This role involves answering customer calls, troubleshooting account issues, and providing information regarding billing and services, while also responding to emergencies as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls from customers
- Help customers troubleshoot account issues
- Work with customers entering service requests, including on/off orders, transfers, and re-reads
- Provide information regarding billing, account balances, service rates, etc
- Perform billing and quoting tasks for cash and non-cash deposits
- Collaborate with field representatives to coordinate service requests
- Utilize computer systems to enter data for every call
- Work during off-hours on a voluntary basis during emergencies (occasionally and upon request)
Requirements:
- High school degree or GED equivalent
- 12–18 months of related training and or experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with data entry
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to maintain composure while displaying patience and friendliness
- Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
- Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings
- Call center experience
