Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the next-generation compute roadmap in order to provide digital-native customers with a seamless, high-performance environment for agentic inferencing and AI-heavy workloads
- Drive the long-term architectural strategy in order to ensure our IaaS layer remains scalable, resilient, and optimized for the unique demands of modern LLM deployment
- Lead a multi-layered engineering organization in order to cultivate a high-performance culture that balances rapid AI innovation with the rock-solid reliability of our core compute services
- Partner with Product and Marketing leadership in order to translate complex technical capabilities into a compelling market position that differentiates DigitalOcean in the AI infrastructure landscape
- Optimize global hypervisor and hardware efficiency in order to maintain our commitment to predictable pricing while scaling specialized AI compute resources
- Champion organizational agility and growth mindset in order to navigate the fast-moving AI sector and ensure our teams stay responsive to shifting developer needs
- Establish deep technical partnerships with silicon and hardware vendors in order to influence future hardware roadmaps and secure the best-in-class infrastructure for our users
Requirements:
- A deep understanding of Large-Scale Distributed Systems
- Expertise in KVM/Virtualization and GPU orchestration
- A proven track record of architecting IaaS platforms specifically for AI/ML workloads
