Network Engineer II

FUSTIS LLC is seeking a Network Engineer II to manage high-level escalations and perform hands-on vulnerability remediation and network hardening. The role involves executing firmware upgrades, ensuring secure configurations, and maintaining service health through formal change control processes.

Responsibilities:

• Review Qualys Vulnerability Management findings and vendor advisories for network devices; define remediation approach including firmware upgrades, operating system updates, and configuration hardening
• Execute device upgrades and changes in production change windows with strong pre-check and post-check discipline
• Implement network hardening standards including secure management access, removal of weak protocols, logging posture, credential management alignment, and segmentation policy support
• Validate service health post-change and execute rollback where required; document outcomes and evidence
• Maintain metrics for remediation throughput, upgrade success rate, vulnerability aging, and repeat findings; support service level agreement reporting

Requirements:

• Experience level – Should be 10+ Years, Don't Need candidate from Security Side (Firewall, Palo Alto etc)
• Five or more years of direct, hands-on network engineering experience, including firmware and production change execution
• Demonstrated experience applying network hardening configurations and validating operational impact
• Familiarity with Qualys Vulnerability Management reporting and validation processes
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Reliable high-speed internet connection is required for all remote/hybrid positions
• Must have access to stable Wi-Fi with sufficient bandwidth to support video conferencing, cloud-based tools, and other online work-related activities
• A HIPAA-compliant work environment is required, including a secure workspace free from unauthorized access or interruptions, no use of public Wi-Fi unless connected through a secure company-provided VPN, and compliance with all applicable HIPAA privacy and security regulations
• Hospital information technology experience strongly preferred; broader healthcare experience preferred
• Certifications highly desirable: Cisco Certified Network Associate, Cisco Certified Network Professional, Juniper Networks Certified Associate, or equivalent
