Breeze is a dynamic startup backed by Sequoia Capital, focused on creating a universal payment layer for seamless transactions in both fiat and crypto. The Sales Engineer will work closely with the sales team to drive technical conversations and support complex deals, translating intricate payment infrastructures into clear solutions for customers.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with sales to support the full deal cycle end-to-end—from technical discovery to solution design and close
- Lead technical conversations with customers, including product demos, architecture discussions, and integration planning
- Translate complex payment infrastructure, APIs, and workflows into clear, compelling solutions tailored to customer needs
- Design and present scalable solution architectures across payments, wallets, and crypto use cases
- Build proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and sandbox integrations to demonstrate product capabilities
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to prospects, helping them evaluate Breeze’s platform and integration approach
- Support RFPs, technical documentation, and security/compliance reviews throughout the sales process
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering to communicate customer feedback and influence roadmap priorities
- Identify technical blockers and proactively develop solutions to accelerate deal velocity
- Ensure smooth handoff from pre-sales to post-sales by aligning on technical scope and implementation requirements
- Continuously improve demo environments, technical collateral, and sales engineering playbooks
Requirements:
- Proven experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or similar technical pre-sales roles
- Strong experience in payments, fintech infrastructure, or related domains (e.g., acquiring, issuing, gateways, wallets, crypto)
- Deep understanding of APIs, SDKs, and system integrations (REST, webhooks, authentication, etc.)
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences
- Experience supporting enterprise sales cycles and working with multiple stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous startup environments
- Highly collaborative, with the ability to work closely across sales, product, and engineering
- 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or similar roles
- Hands-on technical experience (ability to read/write code, debug integrations, or build prototypes)
- Experience working with API-driven products or developer-focused platforms
- Background in payments, fintech, or adjacent infrastructure technologies
- Strong track record of supporting complex technical sales and contributing to deal closure
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in customer-facing environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
