The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the HR Team in the hiring process which includes onboarding, pre-employment testing, and other processes. This position partners with the HR Director and Operations to support growth and ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations in a busy, highly respected and professional industrial company. Essential Duties & Job Functions:

- Assist in the new hire process
- Initiate regular meetings with operational leaders to assess and support urgent and upcoming workforce needs
- Engage with prospective employees
- Serve as a liaison between candidates and hiring managers throughout the hiring process
- Assist Operations Manager with day-to-day business operation and office support
- Provide strategic support regarding onboarding, culture and systems compliance
- Ensure adherence to company policy, processes and procedures
- Provide timely scheduling of pre-employment screenings for new hires and rehires, with local and out of state clinics
- Work with third party administrator on receiving and reviewing testing results for Drug and Alcohol Program, Functional Capacity Exams (FCEs), and other required testing
- Coordinate with HSE and Quality to produce training and testing schedules for new hires, rehires, and transfers
- Process Verification of Employment requests
- Provide general HR support to the company’s leadership, managers, and workforce
- Assists in safeguarding intellectual property, trade secrets and all other company assets.
- Ensure that confidentiality tenets are applied and consistently adhered to
- Serve as a representative of the company, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions
- Complete other duties, tasks, and activities as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Deadline driven and detail oriented
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to take direction and follow instructions adequately
- Ability to be self-motivated, but able to collaborate with a team
- Skilled in interpersonal communication
- Ability to effectively use written and verbal communication with all levels of the organization, as well as clients and vendors
- Skilled in the use of computer software including Microsoft Office applications and able to adapt to existing programs such as ADP
- Knowledge of Human Resources employment principles
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3-5 years of fast-paced, high-service level Human Resources experience, or 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with working in ADP Workforce Now
- SPHR/PHR SHRM Certification
