
Essential Job Functions:
Makes procedural recommendations and ensures enforcement of existing policy.
Prepares methods and procedures whereby bar costs and supplies can be requisitioned and charged to each individual area.
Calculates the daily volume of business and prepares financial paperwork as needed.
Ensures that the Bar Department maintains hours and costs relating to staffing as required by business levels.
Prepares annual budget and business plans.
Monitors appearance of all facilities and service areas and follows-up to ensure cleanliness standards are at the highest level.
Acts as a role model to other employees and always present oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourage others to do the same
Develop and update standardized procedures for the department employees.
Design and direct special event beverage service set-up.
Perform routine inspection of all bar areas and equipment.
Monitor and inspect bar top slot machines to ensure compliant functionality.
Have a working knowledge of Slot operations procedures.
Complete supply requisitions for special events.
Complete bar employee work schedules.
Review and adjust all department reports prior to submittal to management.
Provide instruction to bar employees with regard to their job duties.
Inspect delivered stock and return substandard items to the warehouse.
Interview, hire, commend, discipline and/or terminate bar employees as required in compliance with established use of progressive discipline.
Resolve customer complaints and service deficiencies as required.
Create and maintain all bar menus.
Periodically review and update in accordance with current trends, market, product changes and availability.
Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands:
Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest and/or employee conflicts.
Must be able to maneuver throughout the outlet.
Qualifications:
At least 5 years food and beverage experience and/or training or equivalent combination of same.
At least 3 years supervisory experience is required.
Basic computer knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs.
Basic point of sale -- proficient in Basic Point of Sale systems.
Inventory Control procedures.
