Northrop Grumman is a leading defense technology company seeking a Production – Industrial Engineer for their Canon-Based Air Defense program. The role involves establishing a new manufacturing facility setup, driving operational excellence, and serving as the technical authority for all aspects of manufacturing and production engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as lead and technical authority of the Production Launch Integrated Product/Process Team (IPT)
- Responsible for facilitating the selection or new infrastructure buildout for the CBAD production capabilities, including design and tooling requirements
- Execute design operations and responsible for solutioning plan development and production issues
- Bridge the gap between technical manufacturing processes and business operations. oversee the implementation of new products and processes
- Optimize and manage complex systems, processes, and technologies to increase efficiency, quality, and productivity
- Creating and controlling production documentation
- Execute design operations, plant development solutions to production issues
- Cost-benefit analyses of operation to produce products
- Determine the technology and equipment needed to increase productivity
- Program Participation and Design Influence
- Evaluating manufacturing constraints, capacity, and required resources across the production environment

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 12 years' experience or a Masters degree with 10 years' experience or a PHD with 8 years' experience
- Experience with Manufacturing production cell / plant layout facility and process improvement projects, from concept and proposal through execution
- Extensive experience in industrial manufacturing base process
- Experience with Manufacturing production cell / plant layout
- Familiarity with defense manufacturing industry
- Experience with Cost Analysis: Calculating material, labor, and equipment costs to ensure economical production
- Designing factory layouts, machinery, and workstations to ensure smooth, safe workflows
- CAD/CAE (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA)
- Manufacturing simulation tools (e.g., Simio, FlexSim)
- Cost‑estimation methodology
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and Lean/Six‑Sigma methods
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret (or higher) security clearance
- Advanced knowledge of ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environmental) standards
- Analytical Thinking - Strong problem-solving ability, especially in identifying and fixing production bottlenecks
- Data Analysis - Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and analyzing production data
- Prior experience with start up programs
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
