Florida State University is a prominent research institution focused on education and innovation. They are seeking a Web Content Marketing Strategist to manage the college's web messaging, develop content strategies, and ensure the website remains updated and aligned with institutional priorities.
Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with Marketing Director will manage web site
- Create specifications and content appropriate for the brand’s customer personas
- Collaborate with content management teams, creative teams, and writers to implement the strategy
- Develop content governance guidelines for tone, style, and voice of all content, and ensuring they are followed
- Keep abreast of digital health trends and web best practices; identify opportunities and recommends changes in strategy
- Manages the content of the college's web messaging
- Works collaboratively with MarCom Director and faculty/staff to manage communications activities
- Strategize content pillars and sub pillars
- Plans the editorial calendar and content proposition for social, blog and event content
- Develops editorial strategy, with content that is consistent across all delivery platforms
- Strategizes and improves content delivery and promotion
- Develops and refines the college website content strategy to ensure alignment with institutional priorities
- Responsible for keeping the website updated and working properly
- Conducts periodic content audits for accuracy and relevancy
- Works with marketing staff, faculty, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to assess content needs and identify appropriate web solutions
- Maintains a current, relevant college website with SEO-rich content aimed at attracting and converting prospective students, faculty and staff
- Keeps static and strategic content updated and engaging
- Monitors, improves and updates web content to ensure all materials have consistent message
- Carefully and strategically develops content aimed to inform, entertain, inspire and engage potential customers
- Track and calculate content ROI
- Deploy, monitor, assess and adjust content and website SEO
- Work collaboratively to develop and implement keyword and search strategies to improve site performance, ranking, and user experience
- Manages & develops all of the College's website including working with faculty, staff, and students in developing and writing web content
- Provide web support and training to team members who provide digital content, to ensure content meets college’s strategic goals and industry standards
- Refresh and restructure content for college and its entity sites as needed
- Create web best practices for the presentation of content, images, and other media and update them in response to evolving web trends
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and two years of experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience (Note: or a post high school education and experience equal to six years)
- At least two years of relevant experience in marketing, social media, project management, web content marketing or related field
- Experience in digital marketing
