SuperSummary is transforming how millions of readers discover and connect with books, and they are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead strategic product initiatives in an AI-native environment. The role involves owning product strategy, execution, and measurable outcomes while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results.
Responsibilities:
- Own the strategic roadmap and OKRs for your product area, aligning efforts with company milestones and long-term business goals
- Drive product strategy in close partnership with executive leadership, identifying and framing high-impact opportunities through user research, product analytics, and competitive analysis
- Identify and champion net-new product concepts — synthesizing market signals, user research, and competitive landscape to generate ideas that open new growth vectors or meaningfully differentiate SuperSummary's offering
- Make prioritization decisions and communicate trade-offs clearly to stakeholders, building influence across teams without relying on positional authority
- Be accountable for delivering measurable returns from product investments, including impact on acquisition, conversion, retention, and lifetime value
- Own product analytics (Amplitude, Google Analytics, Metabase) — define metrics, write queries, build dashboards, and surface insights that inform team-wide decisions
- Design and execute rigorous experiments with sound methodology, clear success criteria, and well-documented results
- Apply analytical competencies across growth loops, funnel and cohort analysis, churn and LTV optimization, and user behavior modeling to drive data-informed product decisions
- Develop deep user empathy through regular qualitative research — interviews, usability sessions, and longitudinal engagement — and translate those insights into product direction
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify and specify solutions to customer problems that are enriching, usable, feasible, and aligned with business objectives
- Translate strategy into detailed requirements — leading Discovery, coordinating with design and engineering, and guiding work through development, QA, and release
- Design and iterate on PLG loops that deliver core product value before the subscription ask — including activation flows, in-product engagement hooks, and conversion triggers that turn users into paying customers organically
- Partner with product marketing to develop go-to-market strategy for new features and content types — defining positioning, launch sequencing, and success metrics, and owning post-launch iteration based on real-world performance
- Proactively identify and size adjacent market opportunities, bringing structured business cases to leadership that inform roadmap and resourcing decisions
- Bring hands-on AI fluency to the role — you have direct experience building and shipping AI-powered product features, and you stay current on how these tools are evolving
- Contribute to the research, development, and launch of AI-powered features, working directly with engineering to evaluate approaches and shape technical direction
- Evaluate third-party tools, APIs, and AI models alongside internal build options — making principled recommendations that balance speed, cost, and long-term product control
- Where applicable, leverage agentic tools to prototype, analyze, or automate parts of your own workflow, reducing dependency on engineering for exploratory work
- Identify and pilot a new feature aimed at product-led growth and virality — run Discovery, build an AI prototype, scope for design and engineering, run and analyze the experiment, and own GTM
- Identify gaps in how the team measures product success, design new metrics frameworks, and build accompanying dashboards — then use those insights to sharpen prioritization and roadmap decisions
- Conduct a comprehensive audit of the site's information architecture — synthesizing user research, behavioral data, and usability testing — and lead a cross-functional initiative to restructure and redesign the experience in ways that measurably improve engagement, discoverability, and conversion
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Product Management experience at innovative, high-growth companies with a demonstrated track record of shipping impactful products
- Deep analytical skills – able to independently investigate product questions using data. Familiarity with statistical concepts and the ability to interpret complex datasets independently
- Hands-on AI fluency – demonstrated experience shipping products that incorporate AI or ML capabilities, with a strong understanding of how these tools can be applied in a product context
- Proficiency with agentic coding and AI tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor) to prototype, analyze, or automate parts of your own workflow — reducing dependency on engineering for exploratory work
- Demonstrated ability to operate with high autonomy – you take ambiguous problems, structure them, and drive to outcomes without requiring close oversight at each step
- Strong product intuition and intellectual curiosity – you pursue problems deeply, investigate unexpected results, and consistently seek to understand root causes
- Familiarity with Continuous Discovery frameworks and structured user research methodologies
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate rationale and trade-offs to cross-functional teams with precision and clarity
- Proven ability to work remotely and cross-functionally, coordinating teams across time zones through asynchronous communication
- Engineering or technical background — ideally someone who began their career in engineering or data science before moving into product management. Able to read code, understand system architecture, and leverage technical tools independently
- Experience working on an EdTech, content, or consumer subscription product, including familiarity with subscription-based business models, pricing strategies, and retention optimization
- Experience with mobile and web funnel optimization, including onboarding flows, paywall optimization, and conversion strategy
- Familiarity with PLG principles and self-serve conversion optimization, including activation design, paywall strategy, and in-product engagement hooks that move users from discovery to paying customer
- Experience with content or SEO as a core customer acquisition strategy
