1st Avenue Power is on a mission to deliver clean energy solutions, and they are seeking a Project Manager to lead utility-scale solar projects from concept to delivery. This role involves coordinating internal teams and external partners to ensure projects are executed on time and within budget, while managing the full lifecycle of solar projects.
Responsibilities:
- Drive 1AP’s solar projects ranging from 1 - 500+ MW through the full project lifecycle, coordinating and managing internal teams, engineers, consultants, AHJ’s, EPCs, and O&M contractors
- Serve as the primary point of contact for AHJ’s to secure permits and ensure full compliance with local requirements
- Coordinate with internal teams including electrical, mechanical, software, and procurement to ensure on-time execution of key deliverables like project drawings, diagrams, layouts, equipment and materials arrive aligned with project schedules
- Manage 1AP R&D projects with contract manufacturers
- Develop and maintain internal project schedules, budgets, status reports, and executive presentations
- Manage EPC partner bidding, contract compliance, change orders, construction and risk management
- Manage O&M contractors for company owned projects
- Travel as needed to project sites to meet with EPC’s, contractors, consultants, and O&M
Requirements:
- 6 - 8 years managing utility-scale solar or renewable energy projects with a deep understanding of the solar development lifecycle through construction
- Strong ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams
- Driven and outcome-oriented. Able to navigate complex ambiguous project dynamics
- Experience navigating AHJ permitting and entitlements, and strong understanding of solar construction processes and EPC contracts
- Ability to communicate among construction, technical and non-technical personnel
- Excellent organizational skills and proficient in project management tools (e.g., SmartSheet)
- Desire to work in a fast-paced often changing startup environment
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field
- PMP or equivalent certification (preferred, not required)
- Experience working at a developer, EPC, or IPP
