The Senior IT Project Manager will manage multiple medium to large system-wide projects in information technology, leading project teams and enhancing project management practices while mentoring less experienced project managers.
Responsibilities:
- Leading projects
- Leads project teams through planning, executing, and controlling activities that result in completing deliverables that meet the customers requirements
- Common project work includes planning for project scope, budget, schedule, resource management, risk management, performance management, and stakeholder management
- Leads multiple medium to large complex projects simultaneously while proactively identifying and managing stakeholders, validating customer, business and technical success factors, expectations and communicates effectively with project stakeholders
- Leads projects in a manner consistent with the IS PMO methodology
- Monitors compliance with project management standards
- Promotes effective communication with internal and external customers
- Effectively communicates with executives
- Engages project sponsors regularly to improve project outcomes
- Effectively facilitates and presents at project meetings
- Effectively solves problems and facilitates decision making
- Provides leadership in Information Services or respective department
- Takes an active role in continually advancing and improving project management practices and actively leads initiatives to accomplish departmental goals
- Serves in the role of a mentor to new or less experienced project managers
- Coaches project managers to improve performance, as appropriate
- Sets an example for project accountability and professional behavior
- Promotes a team atmosphere and regularly shares knowledge with others
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree: Project Management (Required)
- PMP - Project Management Professional - Project Management Institute
- Degree required and/or equivalent experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
