Global Recruiters of Denver is representing a well-established workers' compensation insurance carrier with a strong market presence. They are seeking driven Business Development Managers to manage and grow agency relationships within assigned territories across MN/WI and CO/NE, with significant travel required.
Responsibilities:
- Manage + grow an existing book of agency relationships within assigned territory
- Identify + pursue new agency appointments, with a focus on broadening distribution beyond existing relationships
- Work to diversify book mix across key industry segments including Ag, Trucking, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Construction + Retail
- Develop + execute tactical territory plans aligned to long-term growth strategies
- Collaborate closely with underwriting + loss control teams to secure and retain business
- Maintain a proactive, goal-oriented approach to calendaring and territory management – 8–12 in-person sales calls per week expected
- Represent the company's workers' compensation products and value proposition with confidence in the field
- Travel 50–75% of the time within assigned territory, including overnight stays
Requirements:
- 5+ years of insurance experience in underwriting, business development, sales, or a related field
- Valid driver's license required
- Must reside in assigned territory
- Proven consultative sales ability – comfortable asking for the business + returning after a no
- Strong relationship-building skills with an established presence in the assigned territory
- Familiarity with the independent agency channel + large regional/national broker relationships
- Comfort with book mix strategy + industry segmentation conversations
- Track record of performance against defined new business goals
- Excellent communication + presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word + Excel
- Background in workers' compensation strongly preferred; personal lines territory or commercial lines BD experience considered
- Bachelor's degree preferred
