Role: Sr. Network Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL
Contract: W2 only
About the Role
We're seeking a Sr. Network Engineer with a strong background in enterprise network architecture, automation, and security. You ll be instrumental in driving scalable, resilient, and secure network infrastructure across our global footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, and wireless networks
- Manage routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and troubleshoot complex issues
- Lead network automation initiatives using Python and tools like Ansible or Terraform
- Administer firewalls, VPNs, proxies, and NAC tools
- Collaborate with Cloud and Security teams to enable hybrid network connectivity (AWS/Azure)
- Monitor network performance with tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios
- Mentor junior engineers, contribute to architecture reviews, and enforce best practices
Required Skills & Expertise
- Expertise in Cisco/Juniper/HPE networking gear
- Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, NAT, ACLs
- Experience with enterprise routing and switching
- Network segmentation and traffic optimisation
- Hands-on with firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto), VPNs (IPSec, SSL)
