This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Location: Asheboro, NC office with expectation to regularly travel to the High Point, NC office.
The HR Generalist plays a critical role in supporting core human resources functions with a strong emphasis on payroll processing, HRIS administration, compensation, and performance management. This position ensures data integrity, compliance, and the effective delivery of HR services that support organizational goals and employee experience.
Essential Duties Day to Day:
- Processes end-to-end payroll on a scheduled basis, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintains payroll records, including earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments and benefits.
- Reconciles payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries.
- Partners with Finance to ensure proper reporting and audits.
- Ensures payroll taxes and vendor EDI files are transmitted successfully.
- Reviews biweekly timecards for accuracy and completeness in preparation for payroll processing.
- Maintains and optimizes the core HRIS and Time & Attendance platforms to ensure accurate employee data and system functionality, updates, workflows, permissions, and integrations.
- Generates standard and ad hoc reports for HR and leadership.
- Trains and supports managers on HRIS tools and processes.
- Oversees the employee evaluation process, ensuring that employees receive timely and appropriate feedback from supervisors and processes associated salary changes.
- Recommends and implements policies and procedures in the areas of employment practices, timekeeping, performance evaluation and other personnel issues in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
- Responsible for administering workers’ compensation plan, including filing of claims, following return to work requirements and monitoring any employee safety issues identified in conjunction with VP, Quality and Compliance.
- Ensures compliance for reporting to external parties as required by law including payroll tax, employment security, Bureau of Labor and Statistics, OSHA and New Hire reporting.
- Processes, reviews, and responds to unemployment claims, including gathering and submitting required documentation.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum of three years relevant experience as a Human Resources Generalist or equivalent human resources professional
- Prior payroll processing experience required, certification preferred.
