Program for Active Living (PAL) Coordinator - Retirement - Temporary Full Time

The Village of Tansley Woods has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time PAL Coordinator to join their team. 

• Status: Temporary Full Time - [One Year]
• Location: 4100 Upper Middle Road, Burlington, Ontario
•  “The expected hiring range for this position is $44,000 to $48,000 for Non-Registered and $48,000 to $52,000 for Registered PAL Coordinator. This role falls within a broader internal salary band, with growth opportunities based on demonstrated performance.”

To be successful as our new PAL Coordinator, you will:

• Have a Degree in Kinesiology with a focus on psychomotor behaviour and exercise rehabilitation
• Design and implement innovative cognitive and physical exercise programs for residents, both individuals and in groups
• Collaborate with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to ensure resident goals are met
• Be familiar with completing resident transfer assessments
• Collaborate with external partners in order to provide exceptional service to our residents
• Provide leadership and supervision of Kinesiology Co-Op placements, Students and Volunteers who assist with the PAL program
• Facilitate education sessions such as lift & transfer, body mechanics, active living
• Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
• Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the role

It would be an asset if our new PAL Coordinator has:

• Registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario 
• Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, regulations and best practices a Experience and/or desire to provide educational sessions/ seminars
• Demonstrated experience working with seniors and/or persons with cognitive or physical impairments
• Experience working in the retirement and long-term care sector (e.g.. School placement)
