Metric Geo is seeking a Business Development Manager to support expansion within the grid automation and utility communications market. This role focuses on developing relationships with utility leaders and telecommunications partners to drive strategic growth and modernization of the electric grid.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and grow strategic relationships with electric utilities, cooperatives, municipalities, and telecom infrastructure partners
- Identify and pursue new opportunities related to grid automation, fiber infrastructure, and utility communications networks
- Lead the full sales lifecycle including opportunity strategy, positioning, and proposal coordination
- Engage with utility executives and engineering teams to understand operational challenges and align solutions
- Represent the organization at industry conferences and utility forums
- Maintain a strong pipeline and provide accurate forecasting of opportunities and revenue
- Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to shape solutions that meet customer needs
Requirements:
- Experience selling engineering services, infrastructure solutions, or technology into electric utilities
- Existing relationships with utilities or cooperatives
- Experience selling fiber design, telecom infrastructure, or engineering services
- Relationships with major carriers such as Verizon, Comcast, Zayo, or similar organizations
- Proven ability to close deals ranging from hundreds of thousands to multi-million dollar contracts
- Ability to engage with executive stakeholders and technical teams
- Strong understanding of grid modernization, fiber infrastructure, or telecommunications networks
- Willingness to travel to customer meetings and industry events
