Senior Manager, Network Engineering

DigitalOcean is a cutting-edge technology company focused on simplifying cloud computing. They are seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Datacenter Networking team, responsible for building and modernizing the network infrastructure while fostering team development and collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• Talent development and performance management; coaching, and developing a culture of inclusivity and collaboration
• Work with other technologies to architect next generation network
• Partner with senior technical and business leadership to co-develop multi-year roadmaps for the technology areas across the organization
• Proactively identify and solve challenges that negatively impact team velocity and successful delivery
• Work with the team to streamline and modernize tools used for network equipment lifecycle management

Requirements:

• At least 10 years of progressive experience in network architecture, design and operation at global scale (10+ DC locations)
• Experience working with deployment software like Salt, Ansible, puppet, chef
• 5+ years' experience of people, talent and performance management; passion to mentor, motivate, and coach team member

• Visionary - experience communicating effectively with peers and leaders, create allies and productive relationships, nurture collaboration and knowledge transfer, communicate with transparency, communicate clear organizational goals
• Technologist - a proven background in some or all of: GPU networking, IEB implementation and design, DC networking, NOC, Life-cycle management of infrastructure
