About this role
Kforce Inc is seeking a Remote Network Engineer to join their Infrastructure Services team that supports an enterprise network for life-saving medical technology. The role involves installing, configuring, and monitoring network systems while ensuring reliability and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, test, and document LAN/WAN/network equipment and systems
- Monitor day-to-day network performance to ensure reliability/availability with minimal interruption
- Troubleshoot incidents, resolve tickets/work orders, and serve as an escalation point for network issues
- Implement firewall security settings and access permissions; support IPSEC/VPN/SSL connectivity
- Support network upgrades/expansions (hardware/software installs, integration testing, coordination)
- Maintain network topology documentation, standards, and guidelines; partner with vendors and IT teams
- Provide occasional evening/weekend (off-hours) support; some travel may be required
Requirements:
- Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP/CCDP/CCIE/CISSP (or equivalent) a plus
- 3-5 years of network engineering experience
- Strong L2/L3 networking + security design fundamentals; expert protocol knowledge
- Hands-on experience with IPSEC, VPN, and SSL
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- PaloAlto Networks firewall configuration/monitoring
- Cloud exposure in AWS and/or Azure
- Monitoring tools experience
