PolyPeptide Group is expanding its commercial team and seeking a Business Development Manager or Senior Business Development Manager to lead growth across the US market. This high-impact, client-facing role focuses on building strategic partnerships and driving new business in peptide development and manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Drive new business development across US-based biotech and pharma clients
- Identify, pursue, and close opportunities for custom development and commercial manufacturing projects
- Build and execute territory and account plans to grow revenue and pipeline
- Develop strong client relationships and act as a strategic partner and advisor
- Lead client interactions including presentations, site visits, and negotiations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Technical, Project Management, Operations, and Finance teams
- Manage opportunities through the full sales lifecycle, including CRM tracking and forecasting
- Represent PolyPeptide at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific or related field
- 3–5+ years of experience in pharma, biotech, or CDMO/CRO environment
- Exposure to commercial or client-facing roles
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Master's or PhD in Life Sciences, Chemistry, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of proven success in CDMO/CRO or life sciences business development
- Strong track record of closing complex deals and managing key accounts
- Deep understanding of the drug development lifecycle and outsourcing strategies
- Strong consultative sales approach and ability to navigate complex organizations
- Ability to translate technical solutions into business value
- Highly driven, self-motivated, and results-oriented
- Comfortable working in a global, matrixed organization
- Willingness to travel (~50%) to meet clients and grow your network
