The Business Development Representative plays a critical role in building pipeline and driving revenue by engaging prospects and introducing them to the value of the platform.
Responsibilities:
- Generate new business opportunities through outbound cold calling, personalized email outreach, and social selling
- Pre-qualify inbound and outbound leads by understanding customer pain points and aligning them with New Relic’s solutions
- Collaborate with AEs to research target accounts, identify key personas, and create tailored outreach strategies
- Manage and grow a pipeline of prospects while maintaining consistent communication to nurture early-stage opportunities
- Exceed daily, weekly, monthly metrics, including qualified meetings and pipeline contribution, while delivering a stellar customer experience
Requirements:
- 1+ years of sales experience, preferably in a high-volume outbound prospecting role
- Grit, drive, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
- A passion for sales, with aspirations to grow into a closing role
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to engage prospects at all levels
- Comfort with cold calling and a track record of exceeding targets
- Critical thinking skills to analyze customer needs and tailor messaging effectively
- Experience in SaaS or technology sales
- Familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce and sales engagement tools like Linkedin, 6sense and sequencing tools
- Proven success in creating and managing outbound prospecting campaigns
- A customer-first mindset with enthusiasm for understanding technical solutions
