GE Aerospace is a leading company in the aerospace sector, seeking a Sourcing Manufacturing Engineer & Initiatives Leader. The role involves managing supplier relationships, driving cost reduction, and improving manufacturing processes while collaborating with various teams to resolve delivery and quality issues.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the Manufacturing Engineering focal for assigned supplier base and own the technical performance of those suppliers
- Assess Lean and capacity capabilities at assigned suppliers and engage Systems FLIGHT DECK (Lean) teams to drive Cost projects
- Provide manufacturing expertise across multiple related part families and processes, including electronics manufacturing and machining
- Proactively identify delivery barriers and resolve with Fulfilment, Commercial, and Quality teams
- Manage projects for suppliers and collaborate with internal and external teams to implement solutions
- Drive cost reduction efforts within assigned supply base and proactively engage in addressing cost issues
- Use a high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems
- Assess the quality of information and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience, including explaining information outside of immediate team and developing skills to support consensus around topics within the function
- Travel approximately 60%
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 12 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, and/or Supply Chain)
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, and/or Supply Chain
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working directly with Suppliers
- 15+ years of experience in Electronics Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, and/or Supply Chain
- 10+ years of experience in Sourcing, Shop Operations, and Production Control
- 10+ years of experience in Aerospace and/or Automotive
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
