Umanist NA is seeking a Senior Director of Business Development in Rail Engineering Services to drive strategic growth in the rail sector. This role involves winning new business, expanding key accounts, and building relationships with major rail OEMs and operators.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, pursue, and win new logo opportunities across Rail & Transportation accounts
- Build qualified pipeline and convert opportunities into recurring revenue
- Lead strategic account penetration plans across target customers
- Grow existing relationships through cross-sell / upsell of engineering and digital solutions
- Increase wallet share across strategic rail accounts
- Build trusted relationships with CXO, engineering, operations, and procurement leaders
- Represent the business in senior-level commercial discussions
- Lead complex pursuits, RFPs, proposals, commercials, and contract negotiations
- Coordinate internal solutioning, delivery, finance, and legal teams
- Track industry trends, competitors, investment programs, and outsourcing opportunities
- Help shape go-to-market strategy for Rail vertical
Requirements:
- 12+ years in business development / sales / account leadership
- Significant experience in Rail / Railway / Transit / Rolling Stock sector
- Proven success selling engineering services, ER&D, technical services, consulting, or managed services
- Demonstrated new logo hunting and account growth track record
- Experience closing multimillion-dollar deals
- Strong executive presence and negotiation skills
- Exposure To One Or More Of The Following: Rolling stock engineering, Signalling / mobility systems, Mechanical / electrical engineering, Embedded systems, PLM / CAD / CAE, Predictive maintenance / asset management, Digital rail transformation, Offshore / global delivery models
- Existing relationships with key rail decision-makers
- Ability to open doors quickly
- Experience leading large strategic pursuits
- Strong network across North America rail market
- Immediate pipeline opportunities
