Parsons is a company that values innovation and personal growth, seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to tackle infrastructure challenges. The role involves creating feasibility studies, evaluating design impacts, and integrating customer requirements into mechanical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Creating feasibility studies and conceptual designs for process plant expansion and modification projects
- Evaluating impacts of various design scenarios on existing production and future operability
- Integrating customer requirements into the design process for mechanical and ventilation systems
- Coordinating interdisciplinary requirements to develop building layouts and utility requirements
- Complete a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable
- Prepare standard engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs
- Review small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assist in performing technical bid analyses
- Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents
- Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) and 8+ years of related work experience
- Experience in chemical process design projects, including rotating equipment selection and specification, developing and reading P&IDs, and managing equipment lists
- Experience with industrial ventilation design
- Knowledge of material handling systems for bulk containers
- Experience working on interdisciplinary teams to design modifications to existing chemical process systems
- Working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering
- Experience with nuclear material handling, nuclear fuels, air permitting, and NRC requirements
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
