High Liner Foods is a leading North American processor and marketer of value-added frozen seafood. The Sr. Manager, Business Development, plays a key role in supporting sales growth through data-driven insights and strategic planning, collaborating with various teams to drive profitable growth and improve business performance across key accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Monthly / Quarterly reviews with sales to improve forecast accuracy and drive consensus by providing data-driven insights
- Monitor trends, promotions, and customer activity to adjust volume projections and highlight Risks or Opportunities to be included in monthly S&OP
- Develop and implement trade spending reconciliation process for the US Sales team working closely with finance and RGM team. Provide guidance to Manager of business development in this endeavor
- Track and reconcile trade budgets in coordination with Finance and Sales
- Assist in post-event evaluations and recommend adjustments to improve trade investment efficiency /effectiveness
- Develop and distribute regular performance reports and dashboards (e.g., volume, sales, margin, deductions)
- Highlight key business drivers and partner with Sales to identify areas for growth, efficiency or effectiveness
- Assist with the creation of business cases and strategic presentations for customer growth opportunities and manage internal approval process
- Collaborate with National Account Managers and Sales leaders to support the development of customer strategies and joint business plans
- Contribute to identifying new opportunities through analysis of sales performance, market trends, and consumer insights
- Partner with internal teams (Finance, Sales, Sales Strategy & Planning and Revenue Growth Management) to ensure plans are executable and financially sound
- Act as a power user for planning tools and reporting systems; help improve workflows and data accuracy
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in Business Development, Sales Operations, Trade Marketing, or Sales Finance, preferably in the CPG industry
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field
- Highly analytical, demonstrated ability to analyze data, provide insights and develop reporting
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with consumption data (IRI/Circana or Nielsen) and BI tools (Power BI) systems is an asset
- Strong communication skills, prior experience translating marketing and sales plans into tools that support the sales teams
- Excellent organizational skills, is proactive with internal deadlines, can successfully manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Keeps the sales team accountable for individual deadlines
- Collaborative and positive interpersonal skills, can successfully navigate problem-solving with internal partners, demonstrated experience in creating internal partnerships and influencing cross-functional teams
