Nesco Resource is seeking a Business Development Manager to cover the Northeast region, focused on generating new business, expanding key accounts, and building long-term customer partnerships. This role involves driving new business development, selling directly to end-user customers, and managing a strong sales pipeline in a competitive manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Drive new business development across the Northeast territory
- Sell directly to end-user customers in food production, consumer goods, medical, industrial, and related markets
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline through cold calling, referrals, networking, LinkedIn, and market research
- Travel throughout the region to meet prospects and customers (approximately 50%)
- Identify customer needs and recommend custom product solutions
- Develop proposals, quotes, and pricing strategies
- Grow existing accounts through upselling and cross-selling opportunities
- Track pipeline activity, prospects, and opportunities using Excel and CRM tools
- Provide market feedback, customer insights, and competitive intelligence to leadership
Requirements:
- 3+ years of successful outside sales experience in packaging or industrial manufacturing
- Strong background selling to bakery, food production, confectionery, consumer goods, or similar customers highly preferred
- Proven ability to prospect, develop, and close new business
- Self-starter who can work independently in a remote environment
- Strong organizational and territory management skills
- CRM proficiency and strong Excel skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
