UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Business / Data Analyst for a hybrid role in Albany, NY to support enterprise reporting, data analysis, and business intelligence initiatives within a client-facing environment. Local candidates with an active LinkedIn preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL development, analytical, reporting, and documentation skills with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful business insights and actionable recommendations.
***Onsite 2 days/week. 1 year contract approximately.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or related field
- 3 7+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, business analysis, or related roles
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and operational processes
- Proficiency writing, optimizing, and maintaining SQL queries for reporting and analysis
- Experience collecting, cleaning, validating, and analyzing structured and unstructured data
- Experience performing data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities
- Experience developing reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools
- Ability to translate analytical findings into business insights and reporting requirements
- Experience documenting analytical methodologies, assumptions, logic, and data sources
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a client-facing environment
- Experience developing SOPs and operational documentation preferred
- Knowledge of data governance, data modeling, or ETL processes preferred
- Experience supporting healthcare, pharmacy programs, Medicaid, Long-Term Care (LTC), or EVV environments preferred
- Relevant certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, PMP, or data analytics certifications preferred
SCOPE OF SERVICES
- Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries for reporting and analytical purposes
- Collect, clean, validate, and analyze structured and unstructured datasets
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities
- Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools
- Translate analytical findings into business insights, reporting requirements, and operational recommendations
- Document analytical approaches, assumptions, data sources, logic, and methodologies
- Support technical and non-technical stakeholders in understanding reporting outputs and data analysis results
- Align business needs with reporting solutions, analytics capabilities, and data-driven recommendations
