IP Recruiter Group is recruiting for an in-house Patent Agent or Patent Engineer within a software startup focused on innovative technology advancements in areas such as cryptography, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. The role involves drafting invention disclosures and patent applications, as well as prosecuting these applications for a growing docket.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently communicate with inventors to efficiently draft comprehensive, high quality invention disclosures and initial patent applications
• Prosecute such applications for a rapidly expanding docket

Requirements:

• B.S. or higher, ideally in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering
• An in depth understanding of modern cryptography, cybersecurity, blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI) technologies
• At least 3 years of patent experience, either (i) as a licensed Patent Agent, or (ii) as a Patent Engineer who has been drafting invention disclosures while with working closely with Patent Agents/Attorneys to write and prosecute patents
• Patent experience specifically relating to software, Alice/101 rejections, etc
• A USPTO license is not required, but an understanding of how to author patent claims and respond to USPTO office actions is essential
