What You ll Do
- Provide hands-on, real-time support for front-end electronic trading applications used by the Equities desk.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across UI behavior, connectivity, routing, and messaging flows.
- Read, interpret, and debug scripts; assist with Python-based automation and support tooling.
- Perform Linux-based diagnostics, including system health checks, log analysis, and hardware/connectivity troubleshooting.
- Monitor application health, maintain monitoring frameworks, and adjust alerts as necessary.
- Actively own incidents from identification through resolution, escalating when appropriate.
- Partner directly with traders and front-office stakeholders, communicating clearly and calmly under pressure.
- Ensure the stability and continuity of trading operations throughout live market hours.
Required Skills & Experience (Must-Haves)
- Strong Python scripting experience (used for automation, parsing logs, or building support tools).
- Solid Linux background (system health checks, log analysis, command-line troubleshooting).
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP connectivity, routing, message flow).
- High-Pressure Tolerance: Proven ability to multitask, stay composed, and make sound decisions in fast-paced, real-time environments.
- Exceptional Communication: Flawless interpersonal skills with the confidence and professional presence to work directly with front-office users and senior stakeholders.
Preferred Skills & Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
- Experience supporting Equities, Electronic Trading, or Capital Markets environments.
- Familiarity with market structure, order routing, or FIX messaging.
- Prior experience supporting trading platforms or real-time, high-availability systems.
