Key Responsibilities
· Provide design enhancements for current and legacy products (CPI, NSI, and maintenance)
· Create design concepts that balance functional and technical needs with cost, weight, quality, and manufacturability targets.
· Ability to interpret and apply engineering standards, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and tolerance stack-ups; Knowledge with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to identify and mitigate potential design risks.
· Support product validation activities- Familiarity with ANSYS, Abaqus, or Creo Simulate for structural and thermal analysis
· Understand and support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.
· Collaborate with external suppliers, internal manufacturing facilities, engineering partners, and the core Product Group.
· Proficient in utilizing Teamcenter or Windchill for product lifecycle management (PLM) tasks; Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as welding, casting, machining, and forming
· Ability to create and manage BOMs (Bill of Materials) and engineering change notices; be a part of design reviews
· Knowledge collaborating in a global team environment using tools like Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint; Proficient in creating technical reports, design justifications, and comprehensive engineering documentation; Comfortable participating in and leading design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and cross-functional meetings
