Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Payment Project Manager to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of payment systems across retail and e-commerce channels. This role will drive payment technology integrations, POS systems, and financial workflows, while embedding AI/ML capabilities (e.g., smart routing, fraud scoring, GenAI-assisted operations) to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Strategy
Lead end-to-end payment infrastructure projects across store and digital channels
Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies
Coordinate cross-functional teams (IT, Finance, Retail, Operations)
Ensure alignment with business goals and brand standards
Champion AI-first delivery to improve efficiency and decision-making
Payment Systems Implementation
Oversee POS systems and payment terminal deployments
Manage integrations with gateways (cards, wallets, APMs)
Deliver omnichannel payment capabilities
Ensure integration with inventory and financial systems
Implement AI-driven features (fraud scoring, smart routing, decline recovery)
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
Manage vendor relationships (Stripe, Adyen, etc.)
Negotiate contracts and SLAs
Conduct performance reviews and resolve escalations
Communicate progress to leadership
Compliance & Security
Ensure PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance
Conduct audits and implement fraud prevention measures
Govern responsible AI use (bias monitoring, audit trails)
Training & Change Management
Develop training for store teams
Lead change management initiatives
Provide rollout support and continuous improvements
Analytics & Optimization
Monitor KPIs (success rates, latency, customer satisfaction)
Analyze transaction data for optimization opportunities
Apply ML/AI for forecasting and anomaly detection
Required Qualifications
Experience
7 10 years in payments, fintech, or retail technology
Experience managing multi-location retail implementations
Hands-on with POS systems and payment integrations
Technical Skills
Payment processing, PCI-DSS, cybersecurity knowledge
Project tools (Jira, Asana, Monday.com)
Payment APIs and system architecture familiarity
SQL and data analysis
AI/ML exposure in payments
