Bamboo Health is the leader in Real-Time Care Intelligence™ solutions aimed at improving lives for everyone experiencing physical and behavioral health challenges. They are seeking a Behavioral Health Growth Marketing Director who will lead the go-to-market strategy for their behavioral health portfolio, focusing on state and county health agencies and other public sector buyers. The role involves developing marketing strategies, crafting messaging, and collaborating with various teams to enhance Bamboo Health's visibility in the government behavioral health space.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies targeting state and county behavioral health agencies and public health departments, aligned to their priorities, funding cycles, and procurement processes
- Craft messaging that clearly communicates the value of Bamboo Health’s behavioral health and care coordination solutions to government buyers, grounded in the real-world challenges of mental health service delivery, leveraging AI tools for market research and message testing
- Partner with sales, product, and policy teams to align go-to-market efforts with government buying cycles, strategic funding programs, and policy developments that shape behavioral health purchasing decisions
- Create high-impact content including white papers, case studies, webinars, and RFP support materials tailored to public sector audiences and reflective of the mental health and SUD landscape leveraging AI tools to accelerate content production
- Monitor and synthesize market trends, policy changes, and competitive dynamics using AI-assisted analysis within behavioral health and health IT, and share insights that inform commercial and product strategy
- Build relationships with relevant industry associations and organizations (e.g., NASMHPD, National Council, NACo, Open Minds, others) to increase Bamboo Health’s visibility and thought leadership in the government behavioral health space
- Design and execute multi-channel campaigns targeting public-sector behavioral health stakeholders across email, LinkedIn, paid channels, and industry publications
- Support conference strategy and presence at key public sector and behavioral health events (e.g., SAMHSA forums, NatCon, state behavioral health summits)
- Collaborate with sales to develop nurture programs tailored to 12–24 month government procurement timelines and track performance against pipeline contribution goals
- Explore opportunities to enhance workflows through AI or automation tools (e.g., document summarization, task routing, or data parsing)
- Identify repetitive tasks and partner with team leads to implement scalable automation solutions
Requirements:
- 10+ years of marketing experience, with meaningful exposure to the government health or behavioral health space; B2G experience strongly preferred
- Solid working knowledge of the state and local government behavioral health landscape including how agencies are funded (e.g., Medicaid, block grants, federal programs), how they procure technology, and what drives their priorities
- Familiarity with the mental health and SUD treatment landscape, including key policy frameworks, the continuum of care, and the challenges behavioral health agencies face in delivering and expanding services
- Understanding of government procurement processes, RFPs, and long sales cycles
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling narratives for government audiences
- Experience working within or closely alongside a state behavioral health authority, county health department, CCBHC, or behavioral health managed care organization
- Knowledge of federal and state behavioral health policy (e.g., 1115 waivers, CCBHCs, PDMPs, mental health parity) and how policy changes affect government buyer priorities
- Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools applied to marketing processes including content generation, research synthesis, or performance analysis (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar)
- Ability to critically evaluate AI outputs and apply sound editorial judgment when using AI for public-sector-facing content
- A forward-thinking, curious mindset with an openness to experimenting with new technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and creativity in designing solutions
