Metronet is a company focused on building stronger communities, and they are seeking a Permit Project Manager to manage permit requirements and facilitate the permit approval process. The role involves coordinating with various agencies and internal teams to ensure timely completion of permits necessary for construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the Permitting Team to complete a variety of tasks, including completion of permitting with federal, state and local agencies, review of necessary project reports and materials
- Daily routine interaction with various agencies to aid Permitting Team to obtain approvals, submit permit applications and prepare responses in a timely manner
- Routine interaction with internal departments to build relationships, build business cohesion and help internal clients to expand Metronet services in the market
- Manage work within defined scheduled expectations, remove roadblocks and use analytics to anticipate and avoid future roadblocks and keep projects on schedule
- Apply technical and creative solutions to aid in completion of permitting acquisitions
- Advise Permitting Team and OSP Construction with appropriate strategies to obtain permits and maintain compliance with regulations and permit conditions to adhere to schedule
- Provide guidance with internal resources to assure pole applications are submitted in order and on time to meet the project schedule
- Ensure timely completion of assigned deliverables, assemble, submit, and track progress of permit applications and notify management of delays with actionable solutions
- Document and coordinate with Permit Team to ensure permit submittals are in line with the field’s construction schedule
- Monitor/track permit packages via online systems, email, or in person as necessary to meet local requirements, adjust and report when situations arise
- Monitor projects and effectively communicates the status of each permit
- Up to 25% travel may be required as necessary and required by project or construction commitments
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3+ years permitting experience and/or 1 year of permit coordination experience obtaining permits for utility construction in rights-of-way and public or private utility easements
- Organization and strong problem-solving aptitude required
- Ability to interact with all levels of organization including external agencies required
- Strong social, verbal, and written communications skills required
- Must be able to work independently, and with a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Bachelor's degree in related field or Associates with 2+ years' experience preferred
- Experience with permitting in multiple states preferred
- Experience working in multidiscipline and cross-functional teams preferred
