Medison Pharma is dedicated to offering hope to patients with rare and severe diseases through innovative therapies. They are seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead their Corporate Development function, focusing on strategic partnerships and transaction execution to support long-term growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute valuation deal models across all types of transactions. Serve as Medison’s hands-on Center of Excellence for all valuation matters in the company
- Identify, evaluate, and execute strategic partnerships and other key transactions in support of Medison’s growth. Lead cross functional teams through diligence efforts, ensuring rigor analysis and internal collaboration
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of strategic opportunities, aligned with Medison’s long term objectives. Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including investment banks and potential biotech partners
- Work in collaboration with Corporate Strategy and other functions to support Medison’s Long-Range Plan, BOD related analyses and other financial assessments
- Spearhead post-deal analysis, insights, and implementation of key learnings in BD practices
- Serve as a key thought partner to the CBO and broader Executive Team, contributing to long term value creation
- Mentor, manage, and develop a high-performing corporate development team, cultivating an environment of Leadership, Collaboration, and Excellence
- Collaborate and lead the integration of corporate, scientific, and commercial assessments into comprehensive deal analysis
- Represent Medison externally at key industry conferences and with potential biotech partners, serving as a visible ambassador for the company’s growth strategy
Requirements:
- 10-15 years experience in corporate/business development within biotech/pharma industry, investment banking, management consulting (Big 3), private equity and royalty firms
- Demonstrated successful track record in leading and closing late-stage and/or commercial stage transactions with biotech/pharma companies
- Extensive knowledge of financial analysis, valuation methodologies (P&Ls, DCF, NPV, IRR, risk adjustments, etc.) and deal structuring. M&A experience strongly preferred, but not mandatory
- MBA, or other advance degree. Additional scientific degree a plus, but not mandatory
- Entrepreneurial mind set, highly driven, hands-on, excited by fast-paced hyper growth company
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with C-level executives
- Inspirational leader. Collaborative - builds trust and alignment across teams and seniority
- M&A experience strongly preferred, but not mandatory
- Additional scientific degree a plus, but not mandatory
- Greater NY or Greater Boston preferred; remote position
