Job Title: Project Manager Standard III
Location: Washington, DC (4 days per week from Day 1, with a full transition to 100% onsite anticipated soon)
Duration: 06 Months Long Term
Core Responsibilities:
- Facilitating PI Planning: Supporting the team in preparing for and executing the 2-day PI planning event, helping with backlog refinement, and formulating team PI objectives.
- Coaching the Agile Team: Coaching team members in Lean-Agile practices, fostering self-organization, and promoting a continuous learning mindset.
- Supporting Iteration Execution: Guiding the team through daily stand-ups, iteration planning, iteration reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring the team stays focused on delivering value.
- Removing Impediments: Identifying and addressing bottlenecks that hinder team flow and productivity, such as dependencies on other teams.
- ART Performance Improvement: Representing the team in the Scrum of Scrums, collaborating with other teams, and optimizing the flow of work within the ART.
- Fostering a Culture of Trust: Building a safe, transparent, and open environment where team members can resolve conflicts, provide feedback, and improve performance
Core Selection Criteria
- Certifications & Education: SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) is highly preferred or required, along with Bachelor s degrees in IT or Business. Other good to have certifications include Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
- Experience: Minimum 2 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile role. Experience within a large enterprise or scaled environment is crucial.
- SAFe Proficiency: Deep understanding of the Scaled Agile Framework, including PI Planning, ART synchronization, and Lean-Agile principles.
- Tools Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Agile management tools such as MS Project, Wrike, or other project management Tools.
- Background in software development processes.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Facilitation and Coaching: Ability to facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (planning, daily stand-up, review, retro) and guide teams on self-organization.
- Impediment Removal: Proactively identifying and resolving complex, cross-team blockers.
- Conflict Resolution: Excellent interpersonal skills to navigate team dynamics and foster collaboration across functional teams.
- Communication: Strong ability to communicate risks, dependencies, and progress to stakeholders and Release Train Engineers (RTEs).
