Yuso is a company focused on commercial expansion in the energy sector, particularly in renewable energy. The Business Development & Origination Analyst will support the team's efforts in quantitative analysis, pricing, and hedging structures, contributing to Renewable Power Purchase Agreements and Battery Energy Storage System optimization contracts.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain pricing models for renewable PPAs and BESS optimization contracts, including revenue projections and sensitivity analyses
- Design and analyse hedging structures to support commercial negotiations with project developers, investors, and corporates
- Conduct quantitative market research, including analysis of energy price trends, regulatory developments, grid dynamics, and competitive positioning
- Compile and interpret market intelligence to support origination efforts and internal strategy discussions
- Support the preparation of commercial offers and business cases, translating analytical output into clear, client-ready materials
- Work closely with trading, analytics, and legal teams to ensure models and proposals reflect current market realities
- Contribute to the development and improvement of internal tools and data infrastructure supporting the commercial team
- Assist in presenting Yuso's solutions to prospects, investors, and partners
- Report on pipeline activity, market dynamics, and analytical findings to senior management
Requirements:
- Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Energy/Environmental Policy, Power Systems Engineering, or a related quantitative field
- And/or 1–3 years of relevant experience with demonstrable knowledge of competitive energy markets, power systems, renewable energy, and/or environmental policy
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Word
- Basic programming skills required; experience with Python, MATLAB, SQL, statistical packages, or economic modelling tools is a strong plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional European languages are a plus
- Strong research skills: ability to formulate insightful questions, source market intelligence, and synthesise complex data into clear conclusions
- Capacity to develop and deepen expertise across the economic, environmental, regulatory, and technical dimensions of the energy industry
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills — comfortable working with large datasets, financial models, and market information
- Proven critical thinking skills and ability to write clearly and persuasively on complex topics
- Commercial mindset: ability to translate analytical insights into compelling value propositions for clients
- Self-motivated, curious, and proactive — able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
