Associate Corporate Counsel-Business Services

LexisNexis Risk Solutions is a leader in risk assessment, and they are seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to provide strategic legal guidance to their Business Services and Government business units. The role involves offering practical legal advice, leading negotiations for complex agreements, and supporting product development and compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex B2B commercial agreements (SaaS, licensing, reseller, master services, and data privacy/security)
• Create and update contract templates; provide guidance on escalations and high-priority negotiations
• Support the sales team throughout the customer lifecycle, from initial engagement through contract execution
• Advise on regulatory, data privacy, marketing, and competition issues impacting current and prospective products
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align commercial terms with legal standards and business goals
• Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and post-acquisition integration
• Support international expansion initiatives and related compliance needs
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, including training and contract governance processes
• Manage escalations, resolve customer legal inquiries, and drive efficient solutions
• Coach and mentor legal staff to support professional growth
• Contribute to departmental efficiency by developing and implementing administrative and reporting measures

Requirements:

• J.D. or equivalent law degree; licensed to practice law in the United States
• 1+ years of relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, 3 years preferred
