Job Title: Apple Administrator
Location: Charlotte, NC
Contract: Longterm W2
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Apple Administrator / Workspace ONE Engineer to support and manage enterprise Mac infrastructure and endpoint management environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong Level 3 (L3) support expertise, with the ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex backend issues within macOS environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support enterprise Apple/macOS environments.
- Manage and maintain Workspace ONE platform for device enrollment, configuration, compliance, and application deployment.
- Support Apple device lifecycle management using MDM/UEM technologies.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for macOS, endpoint management, and infrastructure-related issues.
- Investigate and resolve backend system problems beyond standard desktop support functions.
- Configure and manage Apple Business Manager (ABM), certificates, profiles, and security policies.
- Deploy and manage applications, patches, and operating system updates.
- Work with identity and access management solutions including Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, and SSO integrations.
- Create and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Shell, or Python.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and engineering teams to improve endpoint management processes.
Required Skills
- Strong experience administering macOS/Apple environments.
- Hands-on experience with Workspace ONE (highly preferred).
- Experience with JAMF Pro and/or Microsoft Intune.
- Knowledge of MDM/UEM platforms and enterprise endpoint management.
- Advanced L3 troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Apple Business Manager (ABM).
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, and SSO.
- Scripting experience (Bash, Shell, Python) preferred.
- Understanding of certificates, PKI, security compliance, and device management best practices.
Key Requirement
This role requires a true Level 3 Engineer, not a desktop support technician. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to diagnose and resolve backend infrastructure, endpoint management, and system-level issues, rather than only performing user-facing support activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of Apple/macOS administration experience.
- Experience managing large-scale enterprise Mac deployments.
- Workspace ONE certification is a plus.
- JAMF or Microsoft endpoint management certifications are a plus.
