Modjeski and Masters is one of the world’s leading bridge engineering firms, known for its technical excellence and innovation. They are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design projects, focusing on movable bridge design and electrical control systems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical design projects
- Design electrical control systems for manual, automatic, or remotely controlled movable bridge operations
- Design power distribution systems for roadway lighting, transportation facility, and movable bridge projects
- Develop details and wiring diagrams for various electrical components and systems
- Perform field inspections and evaluations of movable bridge, roadway lighting, and transportation facility electrical systems and write reports based on findings
- Assist with movable bridge electrical and control system start-up procedures
Requirements:
- A minimum of a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Engineering with a concentration in Electrical from an ABET accredited college or university
- Minimum 5 years electrical movable bridge design experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of residency required
- Experience working in a consultant engineering company
- A strong work ethic with the ability to mentor junior engineers
- Ability to size conductors, circuit breakers, transformers, and conduits for single and three phase circuits and perform voltage drop and fault current calculations
- Submit to and pass a security background check immediately after hiring for access to certain client facilities
- Physical capability to climb ladders, stairways, and perform work on walkways and platforms at high elevations on bridge superstructures during field assignments
- Good command of the English language with good oral and written communication skills
- Coursework in Electrical Power, Industrial Controls, and Electric Motors is a plus
- Preferred working knowledge of CAD programs such as AutoCAD and MicroStation
- Preferred experience with SKM Power Tools for electrical calculations and arc flash hazard analysis
