Pomelo Care is the leading virtual medical practice for women and children, providing care across various stages of life. As an HR Business Partner, you will support the Growth and Technology functions by executing people programs and maintaining operational excellence while addressing employee relations and managing leaves and accommodations.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as an Advisor: Act as a reliable point of contact for employees and managers regarding Pomelo’s internal policies, general HR inquiries, and standard performance and engagement processes
- Support Employee Relations: Manage lower-complexity employee relations (ER) matters independently using established HR frameworks. Provide tactical support to Senior HRBPs on complex cases, including documentation and follow-ups, ensuring all employees feel heard and policies are applied equitably
- Manage Leaves & Accommodations: Serve as an empathetic point of contact for employees navigating a leave of absence (LOA) or requesting accommodations. Partner with HR Ops to ensure precise documentation, maintain stakeholder alignment and maintain strict confidentiality
- Drive Employee Program Operations: Support the end-to-end planning and execution of programs such as Pomelo's engagement survey and performance review processes, managing timelines, internal communications, and participation rates. Partner with Senior HRBPs to analyze data, iterate on processes, and work with leaders to drive successful outcomes
- Lead Culture & Recognition Programs: Execute recurring virtual and in-person culture initiatives (e.g., peer recognition tools, focus groups, shout-outs, company offsites). Track action items from these pulses to ensure sustained organizational momentum
- Maintain Program Operations: Maintain impeccable documentation, operational trackers, and project timelines for all active HR programs, proactively identifying opportunities to make workflows more scalable
Requirements:
- 2 to 4 years of progressive experience in HR, People Operations, or Employee Experience; experience in a high-growth startup or other fast-paced, remote-first environment strongly preferred
- Solid familiarity with core HR workflows, such as onboarding and offboarding, performance management frameworks, and leave of absence administration
- A clear, empathetic written and verbal communicator who follows through, maintains executive presence, and builds fast trust with cross-functional stakeholders
- You maintain a strong sense of discretion when handling sensitive, confidential employee data
- Agile and eager to learn; you lean into new challenges, ask the 'why' behind processes, and look for solutions rather than just executing tasks
- Comfortable working with HRIS data, spreadsheets, and survey metrics to pull insights, spot trends, and build clean executive reports
- Exceptionally organized with a proven track record of managing multiple moving parts, project timelines, and trackers without letting details fall through the cracks
