SGS is the global leader and innovator in inspection, verification, testing and certification services. They are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing new business for complex clinical and analytical studies in the cosmetics sector.
Responsibilities:
- Own new client acquisition for specialized and complex clinical studies within the cosmetics, personal care, and hygiene markets, with clear accountability for client revenue growth
- Prospect, engage, and build senior‑level relationships with R&D, clinical, regulatory, and innovation leaders at target accounts
- Lead consultative, insight‑driven sales cycles for bespoke clinical programs, collaborating with scientific and operational stakeholders to shape study design, scope, and value proposition
- Identify and convert white‑space opportunities by aligning sponsor innovation pipelines and development roadmaps with SGS clinical capabilities
- Manage opportunity qualification, proposal strategy, pricing discussions, and commercial negotiations, including master service agreements and complex study contracts
- Provide structured market intelligence to leadership on emerging clinical trends, claim substantiation requirements, and evolving study methodologies that inform future service development
- Up to 40% of travel within the US is required
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 7+ years of business development or sales experience with a demonstrated track record of closing new business
- Proven success selling highly specialized, technical, or bespoke products or services through consultative, multi‑stakeholder sales processes
- Experience engaging senior decision‑makers and navigating complex, solution‑based sales cycles
- Experience in clinical research, cosmetics, personal care, life sciences, or other regulated or science‑driven industries
