The Analyst, Business Systems is responsible for driving continuous improvement of systems that support order management, account operations, CRM, and EDI processing across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across Salesforce, Manhattan WMS, and EDI systems by identifying performance gaps, analyzing root causes, and developing prioritized improvement recommendations for IT and operational leadership; exercise independent judgment in determining which issues require immediate escalation versus structured project planning
- Manage the full project lifecycle for system enhancement initiatives, from requirements gathering and business case development through testing coordination, deployment, and post-go-live evaluation; make independent decisions on project scope, timeline, and prioritization in alignment with business and IT leadership
- Conduct data analysis across system performance, order flow metrics, EDI transaction success rates, and operational KPIs to identify patterns, quantify the business impact of system issues, and build evidence-based recommendations that support leadership decisions on technology investment and process change
- Serve as the primary business-side partner to IT for all systems touching orders and accounts; represent the interests of Business Operations in technical discussions, influence project prioritization, and ensure business requirements are accurately understood and reflected in system design and configuration decisions
- Lead EDI continuous improvement efforts by analyzing recurring transaction failures, mapping errors, and order digest issues to determine systemic causes and develop resolution plans; coordinate with IT and trading partners to implement and validate fixes, and report improvement progress to the Director, Sales Operations
- Develop and present regular reporting to senior leadership on the status of active system improvement initiatives, open IT project items, and operational data trends; communicate findings in business terms, provide a clear point of view on recommended action, and follow through to confirm that decisions are implemented
- Lead user acceptance testing for system changes and enhancements, including designing test scenarios, coordinating participation across operational teams, evaluating results, and contributing to the go-live readiness determination in partnership with IT and business leadership
- Build and maintain productive working relationships across IT, Sales Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure system improvement priorities reflect the needs of the broader organization; proactively identify emerging system risks or opportunities and bring well-developed recommendations forward before issues affect operations
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in business systems analysis, sales or commercial operations, or a related field; demonstrated experience supporting or leading system improvement and technology project initiatives in a business analyst or operational capacity
- Working knowledge of Salesforce and/or Manhattan WMS as a business user; ability to evaluate system behavior, identify configuration or process issues, and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficiency in data analysis using Excel or comparable reporting tools; ability to extract meaningful insight from operational data, present findings clearly, and use data to build a business case that influences decision-making
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, exercise sound independent judgment, and drive cross-functional alignment without direct authority; comfortable representing business priorities in IT and leadership forums
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex system and data findings into clear, actionable recommendations for operational and executive audiences
- Understanding of EDI order processing from a business perspective; experience identifying transaction failures, mapping issues, or order digest problems and coordinating resolution with IT or third-party providers preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Operations, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
