Frontend Engineer (React)

Sweed is a product-driven startup building an all-in-one cannabis retail platform. They are seeking a Frontend Engineer (React) to join their remote team and help scale and optimize their platform, focusing on building integration flows and improving architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in product discussions, planning, and technical design
• Build and evolve integration flows between admin and client-facing applications
• Refactor legacy code and improve architecture incrementally
• Review pull/merge requests and mentor where helpful
• Contribute to shared UI/core libraries used across portal and ECOM apps
• Drive the evolution of our public UI component library across client-facing channels
• Use AI tools effectively - write good prompts, build skills/agents/automations, and keep humans in the loop on quality

Requirements:

• 4+ years of frontend experience in a product company
• Strong TypeScript and React fundamentals
• Comfortable with React Context and async data layers (TanStack Query or similar)
• Good grasp of SSR (Server-Side Rendering) and hydration concepts
• Solid testing habits (unit + E2E)
• Engineering mindset — pragmatic trade-offs, attention to performance, accessibility, and DX
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalents) and a thoughtful approach to where they help vs. where they need oversight
