Lead AI/ ML Business Analyst (Project Manager)

System One is a leader in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America. They are seeking a Lead AI/ML Business Analyst (Project Manager) to support AI/ML initiatives through project coordination, requirements gathering, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Support the AI Lab Director by anchoring requirements gathering, project coordination, governance activities, and stakeholder engagement for AI/ML initiatives
• Translate complex business needs into technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for data scientists and engineers
• Evaluate and advise on AI/ML project options, risks, costs, system impacts, and business priorities
• Develop process flow diagrams, use cases, mockups, and workflow documentation to support AI/ML application design
• Facilitate agile processes using Scrum and Kanban methodologies, including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives
• Coordinate development timelines, deliverables, and dependencies across AI/ML projects, ensuring stakeholder alignment
• Manage project roadmaps, action plans, and strategic plans, tracking progress and communicating status to teams and stakeholders
• Break down complex AI/ML initiatives into manageable epics, features, and user stories; prioritize based on business value and feasibility
• Direct and mentor team members on agile practices and project delivery methodologies
• Direct compliance activities including FISMA documentation, PIAs, ATO processes, and system security plans
• Ensure AI/ML systems comply with federal IT governance frameworks, coordinate security assessments, privacy reviews, and audits
• Maintain system inventory, ensure records are current, and support data governance activities
• Create comprehensive documentation including user guides, technical specs, process diagrams, and compliance materials
• Develop executive summaries, presentations, and reports for senior leadership on AI Lab projects and initiatives
• Develop and execute test cases, coordinate UAT, and oversee deployment activities ensuring solutions meet requirements
• Provide strategic direction for AI Lab service delivery, process improvements, and operational effectiveness
• Investigate opportunities for workflow enhancement, emerging AI technologies, and best practices for responsible AI

Requirements:

• U.S. citizenship per federal contract requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field
• At least ten years of experience in business analysis, project management, or related roles within technology organizations
• Expert knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) including facilitating ceremonies and managing backlogs
• Proficiency in requirements gathering and business analysis, translating business needs into technical specs
• Strong experience with federal IT governance and compliance frameworks including FISMA, FedRAMP, PIAs, and ATO processes
• Project management expertise managing complex projects, cross-functional teams, and results delivery
• Excellent stakeholder management, consulting, and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Knowledge of SDLC, release management, and quality assurance practices
• Experience creating technical specs, user guides, process flows, and compliance documentation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate situations and recommend solutions
• Ability to work independently and lead solutions delivery, compliance, and project coordination
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in U.S. federal government regulatory or policy environments
• Supporting AI/ML projects or data science teams, understanding AI/ML lifecycle and governance considerations
• Experience coordinating testing for data science applications or analytics tools
• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks and responsible AI practices (bias testing, documentation, fairness)
• Project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and deployment processes
• Experience with process modeling and documentation tools (Visio, Lucidchart, Miro)
• Understanding of data governance, privacy regulations, and data management
• Experience in financial services, banking supervision, or regulatory data environments
• Familiarity with test automation tools and concepts
• Experience preparing materials for senior leadership and executives
• Certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, CBAP, or similar
• Courses or certifications in security, privacy, or compliance (CIPP, CISSP)
