Product Manager, Enterprise Data

Risepoint is an education technology company dedicated to increasing access to affordable education. The Product Manager for Enterprise Data will partner with marketing and operations analytics to translate business questions into clear product requirements and deliver data products that generate insights for stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with marketing & operations analytics and business users to understand their key business questions and the KPIs that matter most, aligning stakeholders around a shared source of truth
• Explore the intent behind every ask from business before shaping requirements- understand why a dashboard, report, or metric is needed, what decision it drives, and what business value and impact it will deliver
• Translate business questions and KPIs into clear product requirements and user stories for data team
• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and the enterprise data and marketing analytics teams, making sure requirements are understood and that what is delivered answers the original question, escalating to sponsors when alignment is hard to reach
• Partner with the enterprise data and marketing & operations analytics teams through delivery, providing clarity, answering questions, and reviewing output, without building the data, models, or reports yourself, but having ownership of definitions and help provide clarity of how to address the needs and accelerate the time from need identified to solution delivered
• Own and prioritize the requirements backlog across marketing and operations analytics initiatives, balancing effort against business value adjusting priorities as new information emerges
• Run gap analyses to find where current data and reporting do not yet answer the business questions and lead the shaping of requirements to close those gaps
• Document current-state and future-state processes and reporting needs based on interviews with business stakeholders
• Help define a common set of terms, definitions, and KPIs to support a shared source of truth across teams
• Contribute insights and analysis to the regular operating cadence, including monthly performance reviews, board and investor materials, and budget, connecting individual work to the bigger picture
• Track requirements through delivery, surface issues early, and drive timely resolution with the delivery teams
• Stay current on trends in data and analytics so you can ask sharper questions and shape better requirements

Requirements:

• 8+ years in product management, product ownership or a comparable requirements-owning role for data, analytics, or reporting products
• Proven experience acting as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical or data teams
• Product Manager or Product ownership experience-translating business needs into a prioritized backlog and partnering with delivery teams to ship against a product vision set by leadership
• A built-in instinct to question requests rather than take orders
• Value realization and business-outcome orientation
• Thoughtful prioritization-comfort using a value-vs-effort or similar framework to sequence the backlog
• Strong marketing data literacy and storytelling-fluency with marketing metrics and the funnel
• Strong working knowledge of marketing metrics, operational KPIs, and performance measurement
• Understanding of Databricks and the data warehouse(s)
• Ability to read and interpret data and reporting and turn it into clear, actionable insights for business audiences
• Experience writing product requirements and user stories within an agile framework
• Experience running gap analyses and documenting current-state and future-state processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain complex ideas simply to business partners
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Growth mindset, high accountability, and the ability to operate with urgency in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, math, economics, engineering, or a related field
• Experience in a marketing analytics function, in a B2B and/or B2C context
• Experience working in a higher education environment
• Familiarity with the data stack especially Databricks, data warehouses, and Tableau, plus SQL, dbt, Looker, or Python
• Understanding of how dashboards, data models, and semantic layers are built
• Experience with financial metrics and P&Ls
• Understanding of software development life cycle methodologies (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile)
• Experience leading or mentoring analysts, or leading analytics projects end-to-end
• Knowledge using AI assistants (e.g., Claude) in the product workflow
• Familiarity with product discovery and prioritization frameworks (e.g., RICE, opportunity-solution trees, jobs-to-be-done)
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent agile product certification
• Working proficiency with Atlassian Jira and Confluence
• Comfort with Microsoft 365 for collaboration and deliverables
• Familiarity with visual collaboration and diagramming tools (e.g. Lucidchart) for mapping journeys, data flows, and current- vs. future-state processes
