Technical Business Analyst - Edtech

Academian Inc is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support its Technology Due Diligence practice for education-sector clients. The contractor will analyze workflows, systems, data, and technical artifacts; coordinate stakeholder interviews and onshore/offshore teams; and synthesize findings into due diligence reports, risk registers, and executive readouts.

Responsibilities:

• Lead enrollment, admissions, financial-aid, and other core operational workflow audits -mapping current-state processes and identifying breakdowns, bottlenecks, and “leakage” between systems
• Review data room materials, technical documentation, and system artifacts to build an accurate picture of a client's or target company's technology and process landscape
• Conduct and coordinate stakeholder interviews with client/target teams to validate findings and fill gaps in documentation
• Analyze integration and hand-off points between core business systems (e.g., CRM, marketing automation, financial aid, LMS) to identify process- and technology-driven inefficiencies
• Serve as the primary daily point of coordination between onshore leadership and offshore technical teams (architects, analysts), ensuring consistent findings and a single source of truth
• Synthesize findings into clear, structured inputs for due diligence reports, risk registers, and executive readouts
• Support engagement leads in scoping, questionnaire design, and discovery planning during mobilization
• Manage multiple concurrent workstreams under compressed engagement timelines (typically 4–8 weeks)

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in business/technical analysis, process consulting, or operations roles involving technology systems
• Demonstrated experience mapping and analyzing business workflows (e.g., enrollment, admissions, financial operations, customer/student lifecycle) and identifying process- or technology-driven breakdowns
• Experience working with CRM and marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Eloqua) and/or student information/LMS systems is a strong plus
• Strong analytical and documentation skills - comfortable synthesizing interviews, data room artifacts, and system walkthroughs into clear written findings
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to run interviews and workshops with client and target-company personnel
• Experience working in blended onshore/offshore delivery teams
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience in the education sector (K-12, higher education, workforce, or edtech) or another regulated/complex operating environment
• Prior experience supporting M&A technology due diligence, workflow audits, or operational turnarounds
• Familiarity with tech due diligence deliverables (risk registers, CapEx/OpEx projections, readiness assessments)
