Capacity Action Team South Atlantic-Gulf Region (SER) Facility Management and Project Specialist

Conservation Legacy is an organization focused on strengthening communities and preserving natural resources. The Facility Management and Project Specialist position involves supporting projects, communications, and operational tasks related to facility repair and maintenance, disaster recovery, and special programs.

Responsibilities:

• Promote and support facility management initiatives and help execute project goals
• Provide Park support for project development and execution
• Provide assistance with the tracking of project information such as funding, completion reports, project and partner contacts, annual program trends
• Assists with program planning such as cost modeling, scheduling, advertisement, training, execution, and evaluation
• Provide assistance with administrative functions related to fund management
• Research and recommend program adjustments and improvements based on internal program data and external industry/organization standards and activities
• Use problem solving and creative thinking skills to recommend ideas for continual improvement and development of existing programs
• Assist with program communications and record keeping (e.g., attend meetings, take notes, keep webpages updated, respond to external correspondence, etc.)
• Communicate facility management mission goals and objectives through programmatic and partner correspondences and reports
• Assist with communication and media strategy including press releases, communication with youth corps, coordination with NPS communications, etc
• Provide communication support for parks and projects to highlight project execution
• Compile information to assist with the creation of reports for project supervisors
• Receive mentorship in the coordination of collaborative replies to correspondences and reports. This will include relaying instructions to staff, collecting information, preparing replies, and consolidating/coordinating submittal of information
• Assist in the creation of additional communication products as necessary
• Conducts communication by supporting social media outreach, internal and external websites, and coordinating activities including preparing and presenting
• Of the position will be focused solely on individual professional development (training, skill development, working with other NPS departments in individual’s interests, etc.)

Requirements:

• Make a full-time, 50-week commitment
• Willing to plan occasional travel to important events and potential site visits
• Serve with varied groups of people and manage conflicts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work independently as well as on a team
• Strong organizational skills
• Submit proof of a Driver's License and undergo a Federal Background Check, upon selection
• United States citizen, United States national, or a lawful permanent resident alien
• Applicants must be between ages of 18-30 years old, or up to 35 for veteran, based on Public Land Corps Act of 1993 authorizing this AmeriCorps opportunity
• Has received a high school diploma or equivalency certificate; or has not dropped out of secondary school to enroll as an AmeriCorps participant and agrees to obtain a high school diploma or its equivalent prior to using the education award
• Agrees to provide information to establish eligibility and to complete a National Service Criminal History Check
• Experience serving in a youth serving organization and/or National Park Service
• Experience with asset management, program management, and financial software
• Experience managing projects and following through on assigned tasks
• Experience in an office setting, particularly one in the federal government
• Experience in or ability to telework / work virtually and maintain productivity
• Bachelor's degree preferred, but can be substituted for relevant experience
• Experience with spreadsheets, accounting and managing funding
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
