Product Manager 2

Principal Financial Group operates at the intersection of financial services and technology, building financial tools that help customers achieve financial security. The Product Manager 2 will manage product strategy, discovery, delivery, roadmaps, and stakeholder communication for low- to medium-complexity products within the Law, Compliance, Privacy, and Government Relations portfolio.

Responsibilities:

• Define and manage product strategy for low- to medium-complexity products, ensuring alignment with broader product family, business, and enterprise strategies
• Lead product discovery by identifying opportunities and problems to solve, using business, customer, user, and partner insights to inform prioritization and decision-making
• Partner closely with design, engineering, business stakeholders, and technology partners to deliver measurable, goal-aligned value through an effective discovery and delivery model
• Own and communicate the product roadmap, product health, release impact, progress against goals, and key learnings to stakeholders and partners
• Support and strengthen product management practices by serving as a resource to Associate Product Managers and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

Requirements:

• You have 4+ years of business, technology, or product management experience; or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
• You have demonstrated experience managing one or multiple products, including product strategy, discovery, delivery, assessment, stakeholder management, and communication
• You have experience using customer, user, partner, and business insights to inform decisions, prioritize work, and measure progress against product outcomes
• You are a collaborative, strategic thinker who can successfully manage competing priorities, build strong relationships, influence across teams, and make decisions in a fast-paced product environment
• This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, Charlotte, NC, and Raleigh, NC)

• For Principal Asset Management positions, you'll need to follow an Investment Code of Ethics related to personal and business conduct as well as personal trading activities for you and members of your household
• Experience playing the product owner role for Scrum teams, including story creation and refinement, acceptance criteria, prioritization, and acceptance of work as done
• Experience supporting legal, compliance, privacy, government relations, or other highly regulated business areas
